Testing and certifying the measuring function of Gas Detectors
At DEKRA, industrial safety is our top priority.
We support access to domestic and international markets by providing testing and certification services for fixed and portable gas detectors designed to detect and measure flammable gases and vapours, oxygen, and toxic gases.
Key Services
1. Measuring Function & Performance Testing
- Flammable Gas and Vapour Detectors: Testing and certification in accordance with relevant standards, including EN 60079-29-1, IEC 60079-29-1, and EN 50271, etc.
- Oxygen Detectors: Testing and certification in accordance with relevant standards, including EN 50104 and EN 50271.
- Toxic Gas Detectors: Testing and certification in accordance with relevant standards, including EN 45544, EN 62990-1, IEC 62990-1, and DIN 6653-2, etc.
2. International Certification
- ATEX Directive (2014/34/EU): Type examination and certification as an EU Notified Body.
- IECEx Scheme: Testing and certification of gas detectors in accordance with the internationally recognized IECEx certification scheme for equipment used in explosive atmospheres.
- Non-certified and Special-Purpose Equipment: Customized testing and evaluation for equipment operating outside the scope of standard requirements or under special conditions, such as varying temperatures, ambient pressures, and wind speeds.
3. Comprehensive Compliance and Usability Assessment
- Evaluation of the effects of environmental conditions, including temperature and humidity, on measurement performance.
- Assessment of user-friendliness and review of product manuals.
- Conformity assessment of digital components and software functions.
- Guidance on the selection, installation, use, and maintenance of gas detectors in accordance with relevant standards and guidelines, including EN 60079-29-2 and EN 45544-4.
- Reliable Access to Global Markets: We support global market access through internationally recognized technical standards and expertise.
- Integrated Testing and Certification Services: We provide integrated support for explosion protection, measurement performance, functional safety, and related conformity assessments to help streamline the certification process.
